as a process in Win XP. Is this normal?
It's called novacomd.exe in Windows Task Manager, and Palm Novacom in Component Services. Any harm in setting the service to Manual? Will it start when I run the WebOSQuickInstall jar? If so, why is it programmed to automatically start with windows and run in the background all the time? |

It's a Palm-made driver that allows the connection between WOSQI (or the Palm SDK) and your device. I believe novacomd.exe is meant to run in the background so it can detect (and connect to) devices as they're plugged in. WOSQI will not start it up
