Novacom doesn't seem to work for me. I'm running Windows 7 and I've tried many times to install Novacom via the QuickInstall button AND manually by editing the .msi file.

I've restarted my computer after installing it (every time), and after running "services.msc" there is never any "Palm Novacom" in the list. I'm pretty sure this is the reason as to why I still get the "ERROR: No device found" when I appeared to have followed all of the steps correctly.

Note: This is not my first time using Quick Install. I installed Preware on my phone before, but after (somehow) managing to uninstall it, I've come across this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,

I've just encounter a problem and I'm not sure what steps I should take to correct it.

When I load up WebOS QI 3.01 and do the Device Management, when it's done taking a look it is blank. It's not showing me Applications or Patches.

I was in the process of installing a patch (move date & time to left) and I doubt that did anything bad, but maybe some directory information or something like that got corrupted.

I just ran Emergency Patch Recover from Preware and that did not seem to help.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Rob

UPDATE: Got it fixed, thank you!

    New version is out

    v3.02 - February 24, 2010
    - minor optimizations
    - updated the Update Helper for improved functionality

I wholeheartedly recommend patch users use this update

I sent the update jar to Dieter and it should be online sometime today.

To those asking about the disabled themer, both my and the guy at Prethemer have come to a mutal theme ipk specification. I'll add a proper theming section in WOSQI 3.1. In addition, I'll be adding ipk export option to WebOS Themer builder. Just thought should give you guys a heads up.

So does that mean we cannot download it yet? I have tried multiple browsers and keep getting version 3.01

WOSQI 3.02 is now uploaded. Keep in mind you'll probably need to clear browser cache, like before

    [QUOTE=heavenlydaze;2237888]Hi.
I'm trying to use 3.0.1 for the first time on my Pre Plus, but I'm getting an error that says i don't have any blocks in the "media" folder--which, of course, doesn't exist in the Plus. I checked my device information in Quick Install, and it says I have a "Palm Pre," (not Pre Plus), but that my carrier is Verizon(!!!). Did I somehow set up the wrong configuration? If so, I don't see a way to correct or reverse the mistake. If that isn't the case, what's gone wrong?

    --------------------------------------------
I'm kind of surprised that no one has responded to my question. Am I being hopelessly dumb about it, or has no one experienced this problem?

Have you recently webOSDoctored/ Perhaps you used the wrong one. Other than that, that's a bizzare situation

First, bring up a command console window, cd to the location of webosquickinstall.jar and issue the following command:

    java -jar webosquickinstall.jar

I expect you will find that it runs fine then. You could create a .bat file containing those commands to run webosqi when you want to use it.

As to actually solving the problem, I guess I would first completely remove Java, cold reboot the PC, reinstall Java and see if double-clicking the .jar file works.
I changed the directory to where quick install is located. This is what I got when I tried running the command.

    java -jar webosquickinstall.jar
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm not particularly sure how to execute correct commands. As for solving the problem, I tried uninstalling java, rebooted, installed java, and still got the same error. Does anyone know how to solve this?

OK. Java is apparently not in your PATH environment variable. So, issue the command like this:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java" -jar webosquickinstall.jar

Be sure to include the quotation marks or it will fail again.

"Bizarre" is certainly the word for it. I've never used /webOSDoctor, nevertheless it happened twice. Then I installed 3.02 and it all works perfectly now!
    Thanks.
