Default LED Torch v0.2.7 - Flashlight App

So people kept asking for a Flashlight app and here it is. This ones is completely of my creation and as such, I thought it fitting to name this app something new.

This app requires http://www.precentral.net/systoolsmgr-service to function correctly.

I made the app style customized to a dark motif as generally you'd be using the flashlight in the dark and certainly don't want a bright screen to throw off your vision.

In addition, I've added a slider bar to adjust the brightness from 50mA to 200mA (18mA to 150mA on Pre3). And of course, there's the central toggle button that turns the LED flashlight on and off.

Hope you guys like it

Available on the PreCentral homebrew gallery, here

v0.2.6 - October 11, 2011
- Special compatibility improvements for Pre3's led flash brightness scale, thanks to mpx

This is great. I like how you can select the intensity. Works great in the menu patch as well.

I had both of them installed and they both worked, but I removed the other flashlight app as Jason's app can change the intensity, have it on the Device Menu and it's not blinding.

both work great. What is the intensity of the menu switch and is it tied to LED torch.

And thanks for your great and hard work on this.

I was unable to get this to work on my Pixi. Seems like great app for Pre owners though.

Just tried it for my Pixi. And it doesn't work. Along with a lot of things that don't work with the Pixi. But that's ok. Hope you Pre owners are enjoying it.

Until the Preware feed is updated, it looks like it can only be installed with Quick Install.
Throws an error in FileCoaster.

Looks like we'll have a couple of LED torch apps then, cause PreGame asked me yesterday to package up his re-written net.vertigostudios.myflashlight app and open source net.vertigostudios.ledmanager service for Preware yesterday, and it's in alpha testing today ...

I believe Pregame is making his out flashlight app, and will offer compatibility with my SysToolsMgr (which has an open api), with extended featured, but I only really needed a basic flashlight toggle so I've made this.

Hope you guys like it

(Note: should be on the PreCentral homebrew gallery, here, soon)

EDIT: Here's a temporary direct download link for use until the app is published on PreCentral gallere: http://filebin.ca/mnuthy/ca.canuckso..._0.1.1_all.ipk
hmmm how do i install the SysToolsMgr Service ?

Jason, or Rod,

Will there be one possible for the Pixi? Great job Jason, thanks.

Click the link, download the SYSToolsMGR .ipk file, and install using WebOS Quick Install.

Yea, I announced a few days ago in a few other threads (and over twitter) I was making an updated flashlight app. PreGame contacted me only yesterday and even then he said he'd support SysToolsMgr, so I figured I'd just release what I had done. I'm on the verge of make my SysToolsMgr open source as well, but until I decide, I've given an open API for developers

And to those wondering, both SysToolsMgr and LED Torch will be on Preware very soon
