To those with errors:

In WebOS Repair Utility v1.21 menu, go Options->Verbose Logging, then to the device scan.

This gives more details and conveniently save the output to log.txt in the same folder as WebOSRepairUtility.jar. Then upload that file to a reply post here. It'll save space in the thread and give me more info

I've run versions 1.01 and 1.1, will try 1.21 tonight, but I've got an observation that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread that I thought I'd throw out.

I went through a perhaps regretably inconsistant patching history with my Pre, doing some manual patching using VI, some with quilt, and yet more with WebOS Quick Install. Most notably, very early on I did the manual edit to hide the NASCAR and NFL apps.

Now, I still don't want to see either of those. But I expected them to reappear after running WebOS Repair, and they didn't. Neither of the files I edited

/usr/palm/applications/com.handson.app.nascar/appinfo.json
/usr/palm/applications/com.handson.app.nfl/appinfo.json

have been flagged as modified by WOQR although I know I changed them. I even went so far as to manually restore the files by name using WOQR and still the apps didn't reappear.

Does anyone understand why those guys are still hidden? I'm not interested in them per se, but I do have a nagging worry that this is a symptom that my Pre really isn't back to a pre-tweaked state and that there may be other more important differences that could trip me up when the WebOS 1.2.1 update hits.

Did you leave a backup of the original json files in the same directory? Perhaps named "appinfo.json.backup" or "appinfo.json.bak". If not, please enable verbose logging and rescan, I wanna see that log

Guess Ill run this before 1.2.1 hits.

Very nice app btw, makes it so easy on everyone that has a ton of tweaks/hacks.

I'll run a verbose log this evening and post the results.

Well, we're a little better. When I click scan it pops up a dialog and asks me to find the webOSDoctor.jar file (even though it obviously knows where it is. Is it just so you can choose a different one at that point?). Another thing I noticed is that the file open dialog is very unresponsive. Is it spinning in a loop waiting for the dialog or something? Also, is there a chance you could make the scan window resizable so I can see more of the log?

Anyhow, it still hangs when it hits a modified file. Attached are the last two lines of the verbose log:

Scanning /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.devmodeswitcher/appinfo.json
Modified file found: /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.devmodeswitcher/appinfo.json

That's it. Hangs there and won't go on.

Apologize for not reading the entire thread. Want to suggest a feature...

I see a few threads of people complaining about their themes not getting put back to OEM completely when they uninstall them.

You say this app is theme friendly. I'm assuming that means it ignores graphical elements in the scan? Could you make this an option so those users with messed up themes can individually replace those graphical elements to get back to stock when the uninstaller has left them high and dry?

with 1.21 I can't see the file that has been changed when it finds a Diff.
It looks like you changed the font. Now the file path is off the popup.

That's already in v1.21. In the Options menu, just check "Override Compatibility" and all tweaks and themes will also get restored to factory default.

Enable the "Override Compatibility" option and run the scan and it should remove all tweaks

I just ran it and I think 85-90% of the items it found were images that were changed from installing a theme. I decided to leave everything as is right now.

If you have "Override Compatibility" that's one of the results. If you mean that option was off, please link me the theme in question

I isntalled the theme before the theme installer was out. So everything was put in manually.

I'm gonna guess that's a bug. I've only tested with the emulator as I have no actual device. On the emulator, everything works flawlessly with my computer. If you could enable the Verbose Loggin option and upload the resulting log.txt of a scan, it'd be appreciated.

Also, to all though who update a log.txt, please tell me what computer OS you're on (and processor speed/ram size if you know it)

Ditto. But I'm concerned that you may not be going to class or even sleeping.

Don't pay any attention -- I'm old enough to be your mother.
