Just got a Pre 3. I already have a Touchpad and bought Squeeze Control XL. Buying it again for the Pre 3 wouldn't have been a problem, but I was surprised with the steep price..

Would have been nice if it was one app for all webOS devices...

Squeeze Control and Squeeze Control XL are two different apps built using two very different API frameworks. While the two apps do share some code, they are not simple ports of one another. Unless you would have wanted XL to look and behave exactly like the phone version, there really can't be one app for both devices.

Look at it this way, would you expect a game include both an Xbox version and a PC version for the price of one version? Those two versions of a game will probably share more code than Squeeze Control and Squeeze Control XL.

I wouldn't have minded having an upgrade price for existing users for either app, but the App Catalog does not provide any mechanism for doing that.

I understand they are are seperate apps. And indeed I would have liked an update/crossgrade discount. But as you said HP does not support that. If only they had promo codes for a few dollars off...

I'll probably buy in it anyway in the end. But currently I cannot download anything from the app catalog on my Pre 3 ???

I guess it needed the phone (radio) to be turned on. Wifi only didn't work. Strange, but indeed most likely profile related.

I think they added carrier billing for apps for some carriers. Maybe that's why the phone radio needs to be on for app purchases, so it can figure out if it can bill to your carrier or not.

Can't get Control to connect. Seem to for a while but now it just says no players connected. Using Squeezebox Touch, Media Server 7.7.1. When it did work it only worked for Internet Radio, it never worked with my music collection through Media Server.

Somehow I am back to working with Internet Radio, when connected to MySqueezbox.com, but I can not get it to work with Media Server, the main reason i purchased the app.

Ok, I'm going to assume that you've already added a server in Preferences. Make sure the address and port are correct. If you didn't setup Logitech Media Server (LMS) to use a password, make sure 'Save Login' is not checked in the server settings.

Make sure the Wifi on your phone is turned on and connected to a correct access point.

Are your players connected to your server. By default, Squeezebox players are setup to connect to MySqueezebox.com. Have you tried accessing the web browser based controls of LMS? If so, can the server see the players?

Thank very much. Not sure where the problem was but I followed everything in your Post and now it works. Thanks again. I bought the app even though I will be changing platforms. It works great, happy to buy it again.
