For those running CM9, I'm under the impression that there's only a few apps that won't work. And the former Google Sky Map (now a non google app, called Sky Map), is one of them (that won't work). I'm under the impression it doesn't play nice with GPS info (which many TPs don't have), or something like that.

I'm really interested in using CM9 with some of the, what seem to be, nice astronomy apps, however....
Sky Map if free, and the others cost a few bucks.

So, has anyone dared try any of the other astronomy apps on their Touchpad w/ CM9?
Or will they theoretically all look for GPS, and then crash, just like Sky Map?

I tried a few with CM7 but can't remember the outcome now. If your going to go ahead and try some, install fakegps first and keep it running with your location before running any astronomy stuff.

I tried fake GPS and sky map still crashed. Shoot. I really was hoping to get that app working. No idea about any pay apps.

Yeah it never worked on CM7 either, but there are other free apps on google play similar to the google one.

I no longer have CM9 on my Touchpad but I believe Sky & Telescope's SkyWeek app worked.

There is an app called SkyEye ... if you want to give it a whirl

I installed it 2 days ago but havent got the time to really try it out ... it does use the magnetic / orientation sensors but something seems funny as it doesnt register rotation on one of the three axes ...
