Preparing for Installation

There must be more than 1GB free space for internal media partition of Veer
Installation Steps

Power up Veer,link USB with PC, and mount as a USB disk. Put android-rootfs.tar, boot.tar into the Veer USB disk.
Restart Veer,then holding the volume up key,get into Recovery mode (there will be a USB arrow)

In PC, get into the directory of uImage.install, open cmd and put this command:

novacom boot mem:// < uImage.install

You can follow this way "Install Bootloader"

Put uImage.install into the c:\Program Files\Palm, Inc folder or wherever your novacom executable file installed, then open a command prompt on your computer and use the cd command to navigate to the folder you transferred the uImage.install to earlier (C:\Program Files\Palm, Inc for Windows).

Then run the command

novacom.exe boot mem:// < uImage.install

There will be installing logs in the screen of Veer. After installing, it will restart automatically

You will see the moboot multi-boot screen. Use volume key to select, and power button to confirm.

Problems

Only touchscreen, wifi, keyboard works.

Would be hugely in support of a version for Pre3, I've been using ICS on my Touchpad and think it's nice to have the choice. And it's a shiny toy to tide me over until Open webOS comes :P

WOW... i had to come on to applaud you for this. i mean i think the veer is soo small it's not practical to use, well in my opinion. but this is great for users who want to try android out.

PLEASE port to the Pre3 as well! The Pre3 could use a dualboot solution, esp. the AT&T one with 16gb of storage.

Right, now we need a rewritten Moboot for our Pre3 and see if we can port CM9 onto it ;> Oh boy, you sure made my day. I was actually pretty close to sell this phone and go back to iOS due to lack of Applications and Stability. Also, i just love flashing roms ;P

Anyways, love the progress for the Veer. Too bad i had to sell mine back in the days. ;(
