I would also recommend mx player, it works very well. Plus if you have ad free android installed it has no ads.

I have the opposite problem. I've just installed mVideoPlayer HD from Google Play and have no videos to test it out.

Just checked it out. Its a beta, nice layout, however the only thing I could get it to play was a mp4 file. Wouldn't play wmv or flv files. And it doesn't display thumbnails. It has promise but not ready for prime time. When it does play a file it plays it nicely.

Actually taking another look at it its not bad. I think its made for more for movies and TV episodes than video. Has some nice features. I don't watch movies or TV on my tp , if I do its streaming so its not for me.

DicePlayer Ad. is great and lets me stream mkv files from a network share via samba server.

MX video player is the best one I've tried. What's the difference between "video" and "tv & movies" ? The touchpad won't play vhs or betamax video's using any apps as far as I know.

Another vote for MX Player. I installed it and it immediately found the movies that I had loaded on my TP for WebOS....and played them without issue.
