Just wanted to point out that there's a new touchscreen driver in development. A vast improvement over stock 0.6, I no longer have the doubletap spacebar issues I was having (my thumb was registering as 2 taps when typing, so it kept adding periods in my line of text, no longer a problem). Also, the latest version incorporates support for stylus, and I'm LOVING it.

So anyway, go here, download it, flash it in clockworkmod, and enjoy:

I also updated my main android on touchpad post to incorporate this, IMHO it's a must-have for anyone right now (so much so it will very likely be incorporated into future alphas or betas).

Will this touchscreen driver work if we're still on 0.5 instead of 0.6?

    Thanks for the link, ncinerate.

Do you know if the Tracking IDs driver incorporates the Debounce, Thumb and Power Save patches lower down the page, or do those need to be patched separately?

From what I understand, each patch incorporates all of the previous patches.

So, you want to be on the newest version, most likely.

As for whether or not it'll work on 0.5, no idea, but I can't see any good reason to stay at 0.5. Upgrade and install this .

First time installing additional patches, so if I want to update to the newest version of the touch screen driver do I need to uninstall the previous one first? Or can it just be overwritten with the new install?

Nokia (red phone) --> Denso TouchPoint TP2200 --> Samsung SPH-N400 --> (Palm VII) --> Sanyo 5150 --> Palm Treo 650 --> Palm Pre --> Sprint FrankenPre 2 --> (HP TouchPad)/(HP Pre 3 - Wifi) --> Galaxy Nexus (with TS mod and hopes of Open webOS!)

Should just be able to install over the top.

As for it working on 0.5, I have no idea. Do a backup and try it - it probably works, and worst case scenario you could just restore your backup if it flubs things up.

On the same coin, why are you still hanging onto 0.5? I can't think of a good reason to stick with that particular version...
