No you just install them from ClockworkMod....Install from .zip

FWIW. It looks like if you want flash player, you SHOULD NOT upgrade to CM10 when it becomes available. Android 4.0.X is the newest Android to have flash support. Jelly Bean will not have flash...

How do you install this file on CM9 once you download it to PC?

plug your android TP into your pc, and drag and drop the apk file onto the "sdcard". install one of the many apk file installers. run the apk installer, and navigate to where ever you dropped the apk file and have at it...

Guys,
Some months ago I followed all instructions of ncinerate's thread (THANKS!!!) and succesfully installed and setup CM9 Alpha 2 on my touchpad. Now i want to update to the latest stable and best CM9 version.
What is your reccomendation? which version should I install? How should I install it so I dont need to install again all of the games and programs already downloaded?
Is there an easy way or any instructional thread for doing this?

I have followed the instructions line by line, (or so I think) but when I get to the stage where you run:

Novacom.exe boot mem:// <Acmeinstaller2 - the screen dims and the HP round logo appears.

At that point the TP is hung.

I have tried two different TPs and have re-installed Webos on the TP to make sure there are no TP issues, I'm using an XP computer.

Can anyone point me in the right dirction as to what I'm doing wrong

As an update I sorted it. Seems I had a corrupt or mis-matched set of files.

I now have two TPs with Android running on them.

My son is very impressed with the store. For me, at last I have a decent browser that allows me to listen to radio on the BBC iplayer.

I received a TouchPad from a friend who had installed CM9 on it months ago. He thought he had wiped it out completely before giving it to me and the TP was originally loading to webOS like a factory installed unit so I assumed he was successful in wiping the system.

I just installed CM9 today with the latest nightly build: CM-9-20121125 and everything is workign EXCEPT the camera. Should the camera work in the very latest build and if so, will it work with Skype?

If the answer is "yes", then clearly something did not install right because I get a "Camera Error: Can't connect to camera". If that is the case, how do I determine which version of Android the TP is running and what should I do to get it straightened out?

Just installed CM 9. Bit nerve wracking esp since unpacking took a lot longer than estimated but now it's like having a new device. I have to try android out longer. First impressions- such a nice thing to have some important apps! Design is still incoherent and despite lots of techie customization options, some basic flaws in basic apps. For example, hotmail email. When replying, you can't easily see the rest of the threaded messages. Play app store is certainly lots prettier than our webos one. Notifications is kinda crappy and task switching is awkward. Still having some name brand apps like netflix, hulu.... I guess I'll play for a while in android land before returning to webos home territory.

no, the camera is not supposed to work in CM9. There are android builds floating around with expiremental camera support; presumably when all the bugs are ironed out the camera driver will be added to CM9 and/or CM10.

I don't have camera. Everything else noncamera related works nicely. My version is 9-2021125. I am enjoying the experience although UI is not consistent. Speed is very good. I will return to webOS soon but want to get better understanding of Android.
