Refurbs used to be an abomination. Then they were hit-or-miss. I think now there's a good chance if you get one it'll be solid.
My wife just had her's replaced with a refurb and the keyboard is very good and the slider isgreat....no oreo and it's tight and smooth. All else seems to function normally.
