Not a good choice as the only device for an IT Manager yet.

1. You can't directly manage servers with Pre. I'd recommend WinMob if you need that ability, plus no RSA device yet available for end-user secure remote access.

2. I wouldn't allow corporate Exchange data on Pre until there is a security certificate and corporate remote management - e.g. wipe. It took about eight months for it to be available on iPhone. Our few iPhone end-users were very impatient. I had to keep fending them off.

3. BB for rock-solid must-have-it-immediately-and-always e-mail delivery. IMAP IDLE is not nearly so reliable as Blackberry push. I've missed seven e-mails in about two weeks from Gmail. Dunno about EAS reliability for push, see #2. Thank goodness I'm not on duty 24/7 any more so it doesn't matter to me personally.

For now, I'd recommend a high-end Blackberry or Windows Mobile device for IT.
