Well, this is interesting. I just used the phone with the headphones/mic that came with the Pre. After that I use the phone normally. It's working properly again.

So, I'm thinking that it's not a proximity sensor problem. For whatever reason, I'm guessing the phone thought that something was plugged into the headphone jack.

You might try doing the same.
