tntsniper, I think I'm having a similar issue. I bought two Pres this morning... the one with the bright distortions at the bottom is also
running about 5 times hotter than my wife's Pre while doing nothing! My initial guess is that the distortion is due to the heat near the bottom of the device. I'm feeling pretty nervous about this
